Center for Media Research – Nepal (CMR-Nepal) is a non-governmental organization working on media research, policy reviews, combating misinformation and media development initiatives, based in Kathmandu, Nepal
CMR-Nepal is currently seeking experienced candidates for the following posts based in Kathmandu with frequent travel outside Kathmandu:
- Project Manager
- MERL Associate
Initial contract period of one year with possibility of extension for all positions.
1. PROJECT MANAGER
To oversee and coordinate our ongoing project with activities consisting of dialogues on civic space policies, research and training on media and information literacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation processes while ensuring alignment with project plan, organization goals and funder requirements
- Manage resources, and budgets effectively while maintaining communication with stakeholders
- Conduct field visits to project sites to conduct activities and monitor progress
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, government agencies, and local communities
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and presentations for various stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the similar sector/project
- Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali
- Demonstrated skills in project development and reporting
2. MERL Associate
CMR-Nepal is seeking a detail-oriented Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Associate to strengthen our impact assessment and learning processes of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive M&E frameworks, tools, and systems for projects
- Conduct regular data collection, analysis, and visualization to track project progress and impact
- Develop and maintain project databases, ensuring data quality and proper documentation
- Train and support field staff in data collection methodologies and tools
- Prepare periodic monitoring reports, evaluation studies, and research briefs
- Facilitate learning sessions and knowledge sharing within the organization
- Support proposal development with baseline data and M&E frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Experience in designing data collection tools and conducting field research
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali
